§  Promotes prevention, detection and treatment services for Medicaid recipients under the age of 21.

§  Focuses on helping all of Ohio’s children get healthy and stay healthy. 

§  Free to all children, from birth through age 20, who are eligible for Medicaid.  This includes children with disabilities.

Prevention services may include, but are not limited to

o   A nutrition assessment

o   Vision exam

o   Eyeglasses, if needed

o   Hearing exam

o   Hearing aids, if needed

o   Dental exam

o   Immunization assessment

o   Lead poisoning test

o   Physical exam

§  May provide other health care services, including treatment, for children with disabilities or chronic care needs, and as a follow-up to a screening.

 Pregnancy Related Services (PRS)

§  Promotes prenatal care of Medicaid recipients for a successful pregnancy and birth.

§ Complete pregnancy-related care before and after the birth of your baby.

§ Qualifications include

o   All Medicaid or non-medical individuals at or below 150% Federal Poverty Level

o   Verbal, written, or medical documentation of pregnancy

Services for pregnant women and infants up to one year old may include, but are not limited to

o   Transportation to medical appointments

o   Assistance in finding a physician and/or making appointments

o   Referrals to other agencies or organizations

o   Education regarding newborn care

o   Informational packets for expectant mothers
