Disability Medical Assistance

Ohio’s Disability Medical Assistance Program (DMA) is designed to provide medical assistance to individuals who are medication dependent and not eligible for Medicaid.
Medication dependent means a licensed physician has certified that the individual has a chronic medical condition that requires continuous medication for a long term, indefinite period of time. An individual may be eligible for DMA if they:

-are not eligible for Medicaid
-are deemed medication dependent by a licensed physician
-meet the DMA income and resource limits
-are an Ohio resident
-meet the Medicaid U.S. citizenship requirement

We also have staff on board who can help you with your Social Security or SSI claim.

**Please note that currently there is a freeze on DMA enrollment in order to stay within budgetary limits on program spending.
